Gun violence in uptown
Gun violence’s this year in uptown has really increased. As a person in my community I feel like we not getting nowhere with the peace marches. My community and cease-fire have the peace march to stop the violence but I feel like there no point. The reason I say there no point because they just having people march in a band holding signs up and just walk down the street. If they were to have somebody give them a speech, it probably would really hear how you feel.

Hey "Mimi", let me know if you want to do something in addition to blogging. I think you're right, we need to be heard. I think it's really important that you're writing about it, too. There are so many blogs and online newspapers that write about the violence in Chicago but they are so impersonal, or they have comments that drift away from the fact that violence is just senseless. It's good to hear from a youth who has an opinion about what's going on. I think major blogs and media miss those voices. Gun violence, and violence in the community in general very much affects our young people. Thank you for the post, and let me know if you want help doing more in the community.
